Summer Blogging

21/12/16

Activity 2

When you are at the zoo, you have the chance to learn about some animals that are specifically found in your country. They are called ‘indigenous’ animals. This means that they are originally from your country. Use Google to identify two indigenous animals from your country. On your blog, post a picture of the animals and tell us a bit about them. What are they called? Where do they live? What do they eat?

This is a kangaroo they jump 6 feet ( 1.8 meters ), they live in Australia and they eat grasses, flowers, leaves, ferns, moss and even insects.

  2. Hi Samuel,

The kangaroo certainly is a very popular, indigenous animal in Australia. In fact, they are so common in Australia that you have to keep an eye out for them when driving through the less populated parts of the country. One of my friends, Jen, drove through the middle of Australia a few years ago and she told me that they have 'Kangaroo Crossing' signs dotted throughout the Outback. The Outback is a name for the remote, interior (middle) part of the country.

In the Outback there are a number of other indigenous animals like the emu and the Australian dingo.

In order to earn full points for this activity we are looking for you to post information about one more indigenous animal. Which one would you like to choose? They are tons!

    Cheers,
    Rachel :)
