1. I have chosen Japan because they have a great view from tall towers.

  1. Hi Samuel! It's so great to see you back this holiday. I was really hoping that you would join our learning journey and blog with us this year!

I love that you have chosen to explore Japan. It is a country that is near and dear to my heart as I actually lived there for a year in 2005/2006. I taught English in Nagano City (a city about 2 hours by train from Tokyo). The city was amazing! It was nestled in the hills so it was a little bit rural, however, it still had a big shopping area. My favourite thing about living in Japan was exploring the temples. They were stunning!!

I hope that you enjoy your time learning about Japan this summer. I am confident that you will do an awesome job with your blogging!

    Cheers, Rachel

  2. Kia ora Samuel,

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey, it's awesome to have you on board! My name is Dan, and I'm working alongside Rachel and Mark over the summer. I'm lucky enough to be able to read your blogs and I'll be leaving comments as I go. If you want to reply to my comments then please do! I'd love to know what you think, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

I think your reasons for wanting to visit Japan are so interesting. I know Japan has some of the best seafood in the world, so their clear waters will certainly help that reputation!

Japan has such a unique culture, I have no doubt that you'll enjoy your learning journey over the next four weeks. They certainly have a lot of amazing buildings with incredible views, have you ever been up the Sky Tower here in Auckland? The view from up there is incredible, you can see all of Auckland!

This is a good start from you Samuel, I'm looking forward to learning more about Japan from you over the holidays.

    Happy blogging!

    Dan.
